Why Do I Trade Stocks?

Trading stocks use to be known for only experienced intellectual brokers who worked on Wall Street, but in today’s world anyone from the stay at home mom to a freshman in college can be trading stocks. It has grown in popularity as many more crowds other than just Wall Street traders. Here are the top 5 reasons why I trade stocks for a living.

1. The Money

Let’s be honest, money is why people get involved in the Stock Market. The Stock Market has the power to change your financial status in the blink of an eye. Opening your computer and seeing a realized gain of over $5,000 in one day is a very satisfying feeling especially at the age of 23.

2. The Challenge

I have always been a very competitive person, if that is in sports, school, or stock trading. The simple fact is, I hate to lose. The Stock Market will be one of the biggest challenges you can face and coming out profitable day after day is a great confident booster which is only going to make you more hungry for success.

3. The Office

If you could pick any office in the world, where would you want your office to be? Well being a full time stock trader your office is what you make it. By working off a desktop, laptop, or phone your office can be in your house, on the beach, or wherever you feel like working that day.

4. The Hours

This is one of my favorite parts of trading stocks. The average person works at least 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week. As a stock trader, I have days where I have worked for 4 hours to only 5 mins a day. This is due to the fact on how hot the market is on a specific day, if there is any momentum in the market, and how fast do certain stocks move.

Example: Stock $ABC opens a $1 at 9:30am and starts to spike. I buy 2,000 shares at $1.10 per share. By the time its 9:45am the stock is now at $1.50 per share and I’m up $800 on the day. 15 min work day does not seem to bad at all!

5. The Feeling

The feeling of trading is really an overview of the past 4 points combined. The freedom of trading that allows you to choice your salary, your office,  and your hours. There is no bigger rush than trading stocks and the joy that comes along with it when you lock in a huge profitable day. Push yourself as a trader and stay hungry for success. You will make it happen!
